What we collect
- Account information: your email address, provided when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we may also receive your name if you choose to share it.
- User content: the tasks, lists, notes, and any other content you create within Bramble.
- Shared lists: if you choose to share a list with others, the task and list content becomes visible to the people you share it with. You control what you share and with whom.
- Basic technical data: device type, operating system version, and app version, used to diagnose issues and improve app stability.
- We do not currently collect precise location data, contacts, photos, or browsing history.
Legal basis for processing
We process your personal data on the following legal grounds under the GDPR:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): to provide you with the core functionality of Bramble, such as creating an account and syncing your tasks.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): to maintain the security and stability of the app, and to diagnose technical issues.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): where you choose to share a list with others, or opt into optional features.
How we use it
- To provide core app functionality, including creating, syncing, and displaying your tasks and lists.
- To authenticate your account and protect it from unauthorized access.
- To enable shared list features when you choose to use them.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or third-party marketing purposes.
How long we keep it
- We retain your account and task data for as long as your account is active.
- If you delete your account, your personal data and content are deleted from our systems, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal or accounting purposes.
Where your data is stored
- Task and account data is stored using Supabase, a secure database and authentication provider.
- Data is stored within the EU (Ireland).
- We do not knowingly transfer your personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app (Settings > Account > Delete Account)
- Restrict or object to certain processing of your data
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your data has been mishandled

Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted third parties to operate Bramble:
- Supabase — for data storage, database hosting, and authentication
- Apple Sign-In and Google Sign-In — for authentication, subject to Apple's and Google's own privacy policies
We do not share your data with any other third parties, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics networks that track you across other apps or websites.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Bramble is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above whenever we make changes. Significant changes will be communicated within the app.
